Key Lime Pie Protein Shake
It’s a New Year and we’re starting it off right!
Green seems like the perfect colour for new beginnings, so that inspired the first flavour in our new monthly series. On the first of every month we will post a protein shake recipe that relates to that specific month in some way. For January 2016 we’re sticking to the classic theme of “a fresh start” and a super green, refreshing key lime pie shake sounded perfect!
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
½ cup spinach
¼ cup frozen banana
2 tbsp. lime juice
½ cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk
2 tbps plain, nonfat Greek yogurt
½ tsp vanilla extract
liquid Stevia to taste
½ tsp xanthan gum (optional)
Graham crumbs to garnish (optional)
Add all ingredients (except for toppings) into your blender and process until smooth. Pour into a glass and top with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle of graham crumbs.
